The angle of attack can be changed by lifting your boule higher or lower. So how to practice this shot? It can be difficult as piste depths can vary and may not expose itself in a practice situation. You could pile the surface into different depths around and in front of the jack but the simple method is just to practice hitting your landing spot. Also try pointing to a jack but land in three different places. Do not fill in the mark your boule made, just use a higher or lower shot each time to get a different landing spot but of course hoping to get near the jack. This can even work on deeper pistes as you can skim the surface with a low shot so the boule does not dig into the depth of gravel.
During a game keep an eye peeled for deep and shallow areas. Notice and remember where they are and more importantly tell your team mates this information. No good both your boule being close when your teammates boule are nowhere near.
